A very very overglossed theme I made....
I was unsure if I wanted to release it but
I remembered some people liking my other
themes...... Whatever , go here to fix
any browser font problems (for most browsers):
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Darkfix+%28+easy+fix+for+browsers+%29?content=74504
it works like a charm and is very easy to use!
Big thanks to code933k for making it!
package contains gtk and metacity themes
(controls and window borders)
oh, and you can tweak the colors using
gnome theme manager.
!!!!IMPORTANT!!!!!
To install:
1.Download the file to your desktop
2.Right click the file and select extract here
3.open a terminal and run this command:
sudo cp -r $HOME/Desktop/Overglossed /usr/share/themes
4.Open the theme manager, you can now
see the Overglossed theme as a theme,
when you click on it , it suggests
taners amazing wallpaper he made for this theme!!
click apply to apply the wallpaper!
the icon theme it suggests is this one:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619
any problems with the install let me know!!!!
Any suggestions and feedback very welcome!
for the metacity code I used the codebase
of scaled black murrina made by twigsby.
everything else made by me from scratch.
HUGE thanks to artist taner for is exceptionally
beautiful artwork wallpaper!!!!

0.2 Changed the menubar highlight and re-made the menues (now we have overglassy menues to ;D)
0.3 You can now have white input boxes
(as shown on screenshot 3) cause I changed
some color inheritance (combobox now has
different inhertitance and cursor in
box inherits text color).
0.4 Now comes as a theme, Included taners
amazing wallpaper he provided for this theme!!!
04.08.2008 Taner made a new wallpaper,
It is absolutely fantastic! Uploaded with
that one and changed screenshots.
a HUGE thank you again Taner! You are
the best!

Two question:
how did you get the menus to be transparent? I've looked all over the internet and everything says go to the opacity tab in the general options menu of compiz but there is no opacity tab in that menu on mine.
also what do you use instead of gnome now?

CompizConfigSettingsManager
Opacity-Brightness and Saturation
Opacity
Windows (Edit)
Copy and paste in the respective space the follow line:
(name=gimmie_applet)|(name=gnome-panel)|(type=Menu|PopupMenu|DropdownMenu|Dialog|ModalDialog) -1861
And set the percentage of transparency in the button below
Enjoy it!

Yeah I used compiz for the transparent effects....
It was a long time ago since I used compiz so
I don't remember how I did it...
Now I use kde-svn (4.2 branch) and I'm so happy
with
it I have no thoughts of using anything else :)
it shouldn't be hard to find a great tutorial on
how to fix the transparency with compiz

I like this theme so much that I have made 8 different color variations of it so I can use this theme regardless of what color I am in the mood for.
I have successfully installed this theme on Ubuntu, Fedora, Suse, and Dream. The only distribution that I can not get it to work on 100% is Debian for ppc. The theme installs but it does not change the appearance of the menus and the color controls are not there. It is not the fault of this theme though.
Thanks for the hard work on this theme. I am looking forward to any other themes you create.

I am currently using the new 2.6.25-3 kernel & the newest Gnome release--2.23.4--I'm thinking that something has changed in the way that theme engines are defined...I would need to check with the Gnome developer's list to verify that....

pixmap engine so my code don't work...
If that is the case all my themes should
have the same problem.
well, it doesn't really bother me anymore
since I don't use gnome anymore :)

try this:
sudo aptitude search pixbuf
or
sudo aptitude search pixmap
it's usually called either pixmap or
pixbuf....
I know in ubuntu it's called pixbuf :)
hope this helps!

one comment though, the color of the highlight when you click an item is too striking(can't think of a better term)to the eyes. it should be dimmer, IMO.

Running the new testing Intrepid Ibex & Gnome-appearance-properties 2.23.3...got a warning when I apply any of the overglossed themes: "This theme will not look as intended because the required GTK+ theme engine " is not installed". I thought that the theme engine " was a very interesting one :). Looks like a theme engine needs to be declared?

maybe they have changed the gnome/gtk
so that pixmaps themes don't work anymore....
I have no idea since I'm on kde these days :)
If you have more info please tell me
and I will put it in description :)
