Description:

This is a very very black modification of
my slickness theme.
I made it cause someone here at gnome-look
asked if I could.

New feature since version 0.3:
You can now choose colors using gnome
theme manager.
It is my very first try at something like this so it might not work exactly as planned.

Feedback of any kind is always welcome :D

I'm using this theme now, it's great.
only problem I'm having is with the menu text (gray on white). It's hard to read.

Report

Chipter

it also comes over into firefox.
I can't read some text because the colours are so close to each other. I have to highlight everything just to read it.

any way you could fix that?
the greyed-out text is not so good.

Thanks!!

everything you need to solve the firefox problem
you can find here:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Darkfix+%28+easy+fix+for+browsers+%29?content=74504

that is an excellent easy to use fix
provided by code933k.

as for the menues I don't understand...
since the menues are supposed to be black,
not white.

Thanks for using my theme!

hope this helps.

Hi! I've been using the slickness theme for a long time and now I've switched to this dark version recently, would like to thank you for the amazing work you've done. However while on my desktop pc (with no compiz) everything works fine, on my laptop (with compiz) all of my windows displayed with root permissions - synaptic, login manager, you name it - are not matching the controls and button theme. Am I doing anything wrong? I'm not using emerald if that matters.

Thanks anyway and keep up the good job!

Thank you very much!

If you want to use the theme when working
as root you have to copy/extract the
package to /usr/share/themes (with root permission)

so the command would be something like:

sudo cp -r /home/USERNAME/.themes/SlicknesS-black /usr/share/themes

replace username with your username :D

I am at school now and have not tested this command and if it doesn't work
you can always copy it there manually :)

Hope this helps!

great theme man but theres kind of a problem. On openoffice word processor and presentation, the screens are black=(. The backgrounds in the slides are not visibile because they appear black and same thing in the word processor. If you can fix that, it would be great!

Thank you guys! really! I am very glad you like it!

The black scrollbars are from a very old version
, I changed those because I thought they
where hard to spot.

The disabled text on toolbar is now fixed,
it was a so small thing so I don't announce updated, Thanks for reporting!

Very nice, I like the way this has a mix of black and white and not all black, as you know I hate all completely black themes but you have a nice mix of colours here.

Keep up the good work!

Rob,

Thanks for this great dark theme.

I have been waiting for a usable dark theme for quite some time and yours is terrific.

A question: In the third screenshot (rightmost), there are black scrollbars. Is that an optional configuration? I didn't note any additional png's for the black sliders.

Thanks again!

There's one small thing i noticed with this new update, inactive fonts on the main nautilus toolbar now have a shadow again. Is that a side effect of improving something else? Apart from that, I still think it's the best dark theme ever.

Any chance that tech-blue.jpg background is available anywhere? Even better, in 1920x1200? That'd be awesome!

Oh, and great theme ^_^

This theme is so amazing. I especially like that you allowed the colors to be tweaked.

I am very picky when it comes to themes, it is the best dark theme on gnome-look! How many others allow the colors to be changed, to adjust contrast to one's tastes?

I have one question though:
Is there a possible (hopefully simple) fix for Gnome Mines? The grid looks bizarre with gradients... :(

Sorry, I don't like the new look of the titlebar, so im using a custom version of it.
I have the old "spaced" buttons and now the close button is red when is not focused, and when is focused it has the original red glow.
Take a look and try it. ;)
