2.2.2 probably the last update, this should
fix the message of an engine "" not installed
I can't try it myself if it works (since I don't have
gnome installed) so if anyone would be kind
to let me know if it works, it would be kind :)
This will probably be my last fix as I'm not on
gnome anymore.

2.2.1 Fixed my previous F**kup. (at least I hope so)
(it's been tested on ubunut 7.10). If anyone still
has any kind of problem please be so kind and let me
know!

I'm getting the following error message when using your theme and opening a file from the terminal:

sudo gedit /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS/gtk-2.0/gtkrc
/usr/share/themes/SlicknesS/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:92: error: unexpected identifier `reliefstyle', expected character `}'

It is just since the new update...I use this theme on my desktop but am having trouble getting it to work on my laptop. Also, the menus from the panel are not theming properly. Ditto with file browser icons. Please help, love this theme!

So I love the way your entire theme works, from the icons, to the menu bars, even down to the widget (assuming that is what it is) on the right with all of your system information. My only problem is that I am new to linux (have been using it for about 3 weeks) and can't get it to fully work.

First off, I got the theme installed where it shows up for the menu and changes the display of windows, but when you drop down the menus on the toolbars (Such as the Applications menu) it has a grey background. I have no idea how to go about changing this to how you have it.

Second, the icons package you suggested I loved, but I think I installed them incorrectly. I copied them into the icons folder, but They don't seem to be entirely setup.

Finally, I have no idea how/where your widget came from. I assume it is something in the synaptics install such as gtk pixbuf, but I was wondering if you could help get me started with that as well.

my email is joncalhoun@gmail.com, but I'll check back here as well. I have a feeling I'm going to be working on fixing this for a few hours.

Thanks! Glad you like my theme!

The grey menues is a bug caused on
some distros to for some reason load the
clearlooks engine on the menues (or so I've
heard)
I have not experienced that myself... I hope
to have that fixed in the next version,
the fix right now is to in the gtkrc file
in the default style delete the whole clearlooks
section. if you don't know how do this I can
try to guide you.

The systeminfo on the right is a program called conky:

http://conky.sourceforge.net/

as for the icons the package is double-archived,
so you have to first extract the package
then go inside the folder and extract that
package too.... then copy the extracted
folder to /usr/share/icons (this must be
done as root).

then you should find the icons :)

hope this helps!

I haven't tried the other stuff yet, but I do not know how to delete clearlooks, but I can google it here in a minute.

Anyway part of my problem is stemming from the icons. For some reason when i unzip them, and goto the folder all the images are fine, but when i copy them to the /usr/share/icons folder half of them screw up (i'm copying them via logging into root in the terminal then cp -r $HOME/Desktop/black-white_2-Style /usr/share/icons and that is the 2nd extraction of the folder) Any idea why this would be happening or how I can fix this?

Um.. Nvm. I copied them over under a new name and it worked fine for some reason. Just need to know how to delete clearlooks from the gtkrc. (Deleted teh folders from the themes folder and thats not cuttin it)

One final question, how did you configure your conky? I can't seem to get it to stay anywhere except the top left or bottom left of my screen and its.. not nearly as nice looking i guess. God I need to learn linux fast.

glad you have the icons working!

get my conkyconfig here:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Conky+%5BTheRob%5D?content=74972

just extract the conkyrc file on your desktop and run this command:

cp $HOME/Desktop/conkyrc $HOME/.conkyrc

then type conky to launch....

yeah deleting the clearlooks theme isn't
gonna cut it... well I'll have that section
removed and send it to your mail...
just don't want to update here yet since
this can cause other problems...
I will try to have this issue sorted out
asap!

Thanks!

Your attention to detail is impressive!
There is a almost tactile sense to this theme, as if it were a physical object.

I'm also surprised by the responsiveness.
Arguments against the pixbuff engine aren't really a factor with your themes. ;)
They look too good for me to care!

Thanks for your enthusiasm, and I appreciate the time you take to give advice to others.

Glad you like it!

Not sure what you mean with menubar being
clear black tho (is it the same problem
the guy above is having?).

maybe if you could upload a screenshot
somewhere or mail it to me
(robertmetsaranta@hotmail.com) I could
figure something out :)

First off, I wanna say this is an excellent theme.

I'm having trouble with it, though. The panels look great, but the controls and menus look an ugly gray. It's as if I'm missing an engine or something, but I've installed all the engines I could find.

Do you have any clue what it could be?

Thanks!

I have heard about a bug present in some
distros that causes the menues to use
clearlooks engine.... The solution is to
delete the clearlooks engine part in the
style "default" section...... I will try to have
that fixed to next release :)

feel free to experiment with the gtkrc yourself tho... it's not hard :)

hope this helps!

man i love this theme, and its awesome that this will be in the next release, my only problem is that i select the icons when i go into customize the theme but the icons wont load, any suggestions? (P.S. ive only been using ubuntu for about a week so it quite possibly could be something stupid)

Thanks!

hmm , so you have installed the icons and
they are visible in the customize -> icons
section and they will not load when you
click on them??? never happened for me...

maybe try re-downloading the icons and
re-installing, get them here:
http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/black-white+2+Style?content=72619

PS. they are double-packaged so you
have to extract twice, first the package and
then the package inside that one!

if they still will not load.... then I don't know,
try a different iconset and see if that loads :)

hope this helps!

Thank for using my theme!

Hi Rob,

I get on gnome-look at least once a week to see if you have any updates ;)

Today I found 2.1, installed, and got this:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/xrfang/2379897916/

Is there anything wrong with my settings, or it is a new bug in 2.1?

Again, I love your theme, Thanks!
