I'm running FreeBSD and plain Openbox with PCmanFM file manager. Tried various installed icon sets, but it would always show the "default" (kinda ugly) theme.
Setting your icon set in .gtkrc-2.0 works perfectly well!!
...First of all, the folder icons are blue instead of the default greenish-khaki.
Secondly, more MIME types now get their individual icon, not just default: things like MS Win apps get their own icons instead of the standard "application" icon...
So, great thanks!!! I exhausted all my wits to make various icon sets work in PCmanFM, then suddeny yours works like charm. Good job :)

First of all, let me thank you for your work once again.
However I've got an issue that prevent me from using this theme: in Thunar the folder icons fallback to the gnome ones...Here a screenshot:

Strangely enough, the special folder are correctly displayed.
Thank you in advance, bye!

Thanks for the quit reply!
Cheser and Clearlooks-Phenix gave the ultimate "vintage" experience to my desktop (Have you ever think about merge/get in contact/suggest echt other work for better visibility? Clearlooks-Phenix even entered Debian Repos and I would love to see Cheser there too.)
Thanks again!

Although, I noticed there's one little issue. There isn't a "desktop.png" icon in places (i.e. Cheser/*x*/places/desktop.png), which seems to be used by MGSE (a part of mint 12) and a few other applications. It's just symbolic link of user-desktop.png, but it should be added because other themes have it.

Can you write for what applications this "desktop" icon is need?

or take a look at Linux Mint 12:

I'm on Arch using some of the MGSE and encountered this issue.

Only one suggestion: I found the emblem-symbolic-link icon a little bit ugly...it's too big to be an emblem imho.
Why don't you use gnome-colors emblem-symbolic-link icon?
Thank you very much, bye!

GNOME-Colors "emblem-symbolic-link" is from gnome-icon-theme-2.28. Cheser "emblem-symbolic-link" is from gnome-icon-theme-3.0. I try to use the latest version of gnome-icon-theme.
In gnome-icon-theme-3.0 "emblem-readonly", "emblem-shared", "emblem-symbolic-link", "emblem-synchronizing", "emblem-unreadable" are one style icons.

P.S. You can always change icons, that you don't like.

I suggest you that because in my opinion the "old" symbolic emblem is more good looking than the new one...
Here with the old

And here the new
http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/5218/istantanea0308201111324.png
Imho in the second screenshot we can see how big the symbolic emblem is, it almost cover the whole icon.
Btw, is a matter of taste ;)
Thank you very much!!

For Gmail icon go to http://gnome-gmail.sourceforge.net/. In the end of page you can find link 'Gnome Gmail developer page'. Go where, copy 'git clone git://gnome...' & paste in Terminal. Maybe, you will need to install git.
