I cannot say exactly how I happened on exactly the right balance of colours way back in 2007 or so, when I fiddled with an emerald theme called "blueglass" and came up with this theme one day, but I have been happily using it ever since, and never found anything to change about it.
I love the radiance of the active window, and the perfect expression of focus as it changes to transparent in the background. I can't take credit myself for my hands having created this marvel.
Long live emerald, and may this theme live on in as many forms and incarnations as possible!
