download this theme. Them click onto a free space on your desktop and choose "change desktop-background". Then go to "themes" and drop this package into the window of your window-manager (for gnome, it is the metacity-theme-manager).

Then this theme will be copied and installed automaticly.

Or you can even go to your home-folder. In the menu-line at the top, you go to "Look" and choose "display hidden data" and then you see a folder called .themes in your home-folder. Just open this folder and put the package there and extract it. Then close this folder again and close your home-folder.
Then right-cklick again on a free space on your desktop and choose "change desktop-background". Then again go to "themes" and select your new theme and then go to "symbols" and select the icons for this theme.

This is it and you're done.

You see, installing Metacity-themes in ubuntu and its derivatives is just easy.

Greetings

If u had read the blurb u would have known that I had not posted on this site before and i missed the blank line in the drop down list when adding a file so i selected ubuntu ive just changed that but as far as i know it should work on most up to date gnomes maybe u should try to be a bit more constructive in your criticisms after all this is all for free!

Haven't you heard? It's the best way to flush out nitpickers. Now when they're out in the open, it's just a matter of picking them off from a distance.

I hear they ask themselves, "Is it really worth it?" - and sadly, they usually assume that it is.

Now, let's take up the "It's called GNU/Linux!", "Ubuntu is ugly!", "KDE is superior to Gnome!" and "The GPL sucks compared to BSD license!"-discussions - I'm all ears to hear your well-picked arguments.

Now, let me just get myself a BS-vaccination, and we're off.
